Virginia Elizabeth “Ginny” (Schmidt) Meister passed away on December 22, 2025. She was at home surrounded and held by loved ones just as she wanted. She was born on January 12, 1949, to the late William V. Schmidt and Mildred Kaufman.

Ginny loved to travel and visited her 50th state last year. Ginny is well known for the love she had of pets, especially dachshunds and bulldogs. She leaves behind a legacy of helping others, showing patience and kindness to everyone, strength and independence, a bit of stubbornness, but most importantly a massive amount of love.

Survivors include her children Casey (Ron) Holt of Union City, IN, Bill Wymer of Union City, IN, Donnie (Korey) Wymer of Union City, IN, sister, Connie (Carrol) Good of Union City, IN, grandchildren Zane and Zack (Megan) Holt, Reed Wymer, Rayne (Dakaota) Wymer and Reece (Sarah) Wymer, Mallory and Dexter Wymer, great grandchildren, Zelen Holt and Leelan Holt, Theo Holt, Lucy Wymer, Annie Wymer, Eloise Wymer, and Clara Wymer, Thomas Wymer, Wyatt Wymer, Darla Wymer and Lauren Wymer. She is also survived by dear friends John and Judy Wymer as well as many lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frances Charles (Chuck) Meister, as well as brothers, John Schmidt and William A. “Bill” Schmidt.

Per Ginny’s wishes, there will be no visitation and burial will take place later at the convenience of the family.
