Twila Gay Taylor

Twila Gay Taylor passed away peacefully on September 23 2026, in the hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Twila was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose love, compassion, and strength touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was a woman who dedicated her life to her family and was a beautiful example of love, kindness, and perseverance.

Twila leaves behind her beloved husband of 52 years, David James Taylor Together, they shared a lifetime of love, memories, and devotion. She is also survived by her three daughters: Jodi Taylor King (Joe Bell), Mika Taylor Dalzell (Mo Dalzell), and Jami Taylor Stephan (Jerimy Stephan) . Twila was a loving and cherished grandmother to her eight grandchildren, Kodi King, Makayla King, Kolton King, Ashton Seitz, Libby Dalzell, Issac Dalzell, Morgan Windham, Kaibre Taylor and Lillie Jackson as well as her great grandchildren, Emmy, Elly, Amelia, Leeland, Briggs, Finley and one on the way, who brought immense joy and pride to her life.

Twila is preceded in death by both parents, Vela Williams and Issac Williams, her brother Gene Williams, and her sister Kelly Williams.

Twila’s greatest legacy was the love she poured into her family. She was a caring and compassionate mother who helped shape her daughters into the women they are today. Through her example, she taught them the importance of family, love, strength, and always being there for the people who matter most. She found so much happiness in the simple, beautiful things in life. She loved cooking Sunday dinners where family gathered around the table. Those meals were more than just dinner-they were a reflection of what mattered most to Twila: having the people she loved close. She loved her flower garden, taking pride in the beauty she created and peaceful moments spent tending to it. She cherished the quiet, peaceful country life, where she could enjoy simple comforts of home, family, nature, and the beauty that surrounded her. But perhaps nothing brought Twila more happiness than her grandbabies. She treasured every one of them and loved watching them grow. They filled her heart with a special kind of joy, and the memories they made.

She was also a loving and devoted wife to David, standing beside him through 52 years of life’s joys and challenges. Their marriage was a testament to commitment, companionship, and enduring love. Though her passing leaves an unimaginable emptiness in the hearts of those who loved her, Twila’s memory will live on through her husband, daughters, grandchildren, family, and all those whose lives she touched.

Her family will forever cherish the lessons she taught them, the love she gave so freely, and the countless memories they made together. She may be gone from our sight, but she will never be gone from our hearts. May she rest peacefully, surrounded by the love she spent her life giving to others.

The family will receive visitors from 10 am until 12 noon on September 29, 2026 at Lynn Friends Church 311 S. Main Street, Lynn, IN 47355. A funeral service to celebrate Twila’s life will begin at noon with burial to follow at Spartanburg Cemetery.
