Teresa Anne Lewis

Teresa Anne Lewis, 60, passed away peacefully on   July 28, 2020 at her residence in Winchester, Indiana with her loving husband by her side. Teresa was born October 1, 1959 in Union City, Indiana to the late James and Lilly Powers. She was a 1978 graduate of Jay County High School and employed at IU Health Jay for 7 years. Previously she had worked at Blissfield Jay Products for 35 years before the plant closed. She was the most dedicated employee who worked hard all of her life. Teresa married the love of her life, James Victor Lewis on September 24, 1983 who survives. James and Teresa’s children were their Labrador dogs and she loved horses, especially the 400+ Breyer horses.  She enjoyed going to Siesta Key, spending time with her family and having fun with her friends playing cards at their home. Teresa was a loyal, generous, fun loving, witty person, who was a great listener and best friend to all. However, you knew her, no one could ask for a more loving wife to James for 36 years, an amazing sister, a sassy sister-in law, an unforgettable aunt, awesome cousin, and forever friend. She made a difference in people’s life by always sharing a smile and a kind word.
Teresa was the oldest of the Powers sisters who survive, Janet Powers-Portland, IN and sister, Cindy (Doug) Cash. She is also survived by her two loving sisters-in-law’s; Dinah Collins and Cheryl (Dave) Tillman, Union City, IN and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and father-mother-in law, James and Jeanne Lewis.
Private services will be held at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc. 400 W. Deerfield Road Union City, Indiana. Public Graveside services will be Thursday July 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Union City Cemetery with Dr. Bradley Key officiating.
