Union City

Stephen “Steve” Hoffman, known lovingly as Pop Pop by his grandchildren, age 67, of Union City, Indiana, passed peacefully into the arms of his Savior on October 18, 2025. Born on December 2, 1957, in Portland, Indiana, Steve lived a life marked by unwavering faith, deep love for his family, and joyful service to others.

Steve was the devoted and deeply loving husband of Amy Hoffman, with whom he shared 46 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love. He was the proud father of Stacey (Nate) Evans, Mike (Ashley) Hoffman, and Joe (Katie) Hoffman, and Pop Pop to ten beloved grandchildren: Jaysik, Brielynn, Addi, Ally, Gabby, Aiden, Carson, Mylee, Addison, and Mikaylee, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy. His family was his world, and his happiest moments were spent watching his kids and grandkids at their school programs, athletic events, and special activities.

He is survived by siblings Jim (Shana) Hoffman, Ruth (Chip) Loney, Fred (Linda) Hoffman, and Sherry Garland. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Leah Hoffman, and siblings Gary Hoffman (Jennifer) and Karen Smith (John).

A man of steadfast faith and a true servant’s heart, Steve was an elder at Community Fellowship Church, where he also ministered through music as a member of the worship team, blessing others with his gift of playing the piano. He was known for his kindness, selflessness, and the gentle, caring spirit that drew people to him. Steve had a remarkable sense of humor and was crafty and creative. People were drawn to his genuine nature and the way he offered his time, talents, and heart to others. Above all, he was a man of God with strong faith, who lived his life as an example of Christ’s love.

Services will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Community Fellowship Church located at 1051 N. Jackson Pike, Union City, IN 47390. Visitation will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with a celebration of his life immediately following.

Steve’s legacy of love, faith, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Though he will be deeply missed, we rejoice knowing he is now home with his Lord.
