Stacey Dianne (Mong) Estep- 57 yrs old Passed away Jan 4, 2023, at IU Health Ball Hospital in Muncie IN after an extended illness. She was a resident of Randolph Nursing & rehabilitation. Born Aug 3, 1965, to Rita & Steve Mong in Winchester IN.
She grew up in Union City, IN attending UCCHS graduating in the class of 1983. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Ball State University and later she became a Licensed Real Estate Agent with Homestead Realty in Elkhart IN.
Stacey was an avid lover of playing piano, music, singing, & and dancing. She enjoyed watching Food Network and experimenting on her family & friends with new trending dishes. She was known as "Mom" to all the girls' friends and often welcomed them into her home and made sure everyone was fed. You could often find her reading Historical Romance or Mystery novels, Watching Nascar, going to the Brickyard 400 & cheering on her favorite NFL team ('Da Bears). She had a huge heart for animals, especially her dogs. She would have had a zoo in her house if she could. She and her sister, Ronda, always had many pets growing up. Playing Games followed her throughout her life. Board games, card games, and computer games were so much fun with her. She loved to have fun. As a youth, she loved camping & water skiing with her family. Lake Cumberland was her favorite place.
She is survived by her children, Allison (Corey) Merritt of Pleasant Hill, OH, Shelbie Jessup (James Dill) of Greenfield, IN & Lindsey Estep (Martin Lawson) of Painted Rock, TN. Her sister Ronda (David) Mackey of Union City IN. Grandchildren Kellany Merritt, Keagen Merritt, Gauge Horn, Aurora Horn, Corbyn Dill & Kyle Dill, nephews Shannon (Heather) Mackey of Winchester & Ryan Mackey United States Navy, Norfolk, VA.
She was preceded in death by her parents as well as her niece, Danielle Mackey.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Reichard Funeral Home 400 W. Deerfield Road, Union City, IN. A memorial service will follow at 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place later at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Riley's Children's Hospital where her daughter Shelbie was a patient as a child or to the Miami Valley Hospital NICU Butterfly Room Foundation where her daughter Allison is currently a Nurse. Local contributions can be made in her name to P.A.W.S. Pets Are Worth Saving. Please send all contributions to the funeral home and they will be distributed to each foundation accordingly.
