Sandra "Sandie" Birum

Sandra "Sandie" Birum, age 74, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2026. She was born on July 9, 1951, and lived a life filled with love, family, and creativity.

On March 6, 1976, Sandie married the love of her life, Rick Birum. Together, they built a beautiful life until his passing in 2014. For over 15 years, Sandie was a well-known face in the local business community as the owner of My Favorite Flowers Shoppe in downtown Union City, Indiana. She poured her heart into her floral work, truly loving nothing more than bringing joy to her patrons with her beautiful arrangements.

She is survived by her daughter, Dee Best, and her husband Rick of Greenville, Ohio. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren - including her adored great-grandson Haiden - and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Sandie is also survived by her brothers Frank (Renee) Jackson of Bradenton, Florida; Pete Jackson of Jefferson, Texas; Ronald (Geri) Jackson of Cato, New York; and her sister Vicki (Gary) Andrello of Liverpool, New York.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Rick; her brothers, James and John; and her sister, Rosemary.

In accordance with Sandie’s wishes, there will be no public viewing. A private burial service will be held for the family.
