Ruth "Ruthie" Ann Richards

Ruth “Ruthie” Ann Richards, 75 of Troy, Ohio passed away on November 26, 2023, at her residence surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on April 6, 1948, to the late William and Olive Blanche (Erwin) Hall. Blanche passed away when Ruthie was 7. William remarried with Mabel (Hoschouer) who lovingly raised the Hall children as her own.

 Ruthie grew up in Ansonia, Ohio. She later moved to Union City, Indiana, where she raised her two daughters. Ruthie worked at Sheller Globe, Indiana Business College, Ball Memorial Hospital, and JcPenney. Ruthie was no stranger to hard work; at times working 2 or 3 jobs to support her girls. No obstacles were too large for Ruthie and there was nothing she would not do for her girls. Ruthie was the only sibling to graduate high school (Class of 1966) and Indiana Business College in 1991. In 1981, she met and married the love of her life, Ronny Richards, and gained two bonus sons Ronny Ray and Mikey. Life would take them on different paths in 1999, but their love and commitment to family extended well beyond.

 Ruthie had an absolute passion for people. She never met a stranger, shook EVERY military person’s hand showing her love and loyalty to them and our Country, and gave endlessly to those around her. There was nothing Ruthie loved more than family…except in the end…in the end she may have loved her Honey Oh’s, strawberry ice cream, pie, and Nutter Butter cookies just a bit little more!

Survivors include her children; DeAnna (Ron) Hill of Troy, OH, Angela (Gary) Aulis of Highland, California, Michael (Tammy) Richards of Union City, OH, Ronny (Kelley) Richards of Columbus, OH, siblings; Jo Leedom of Connersville, IN, Tom (Mary) Hall of Union City, OH, Judith Darland of Greenville, Ohio, Steve (Roberta) Hall of Ansonia, OH, grandchildren; Andrew (Allie), Marleigh, Colton, Kayla, Corbin, Madyson, Tabitha, great grandchildren; Juliette, Milo, Maisie, Obie; nieces and nephews Michelle, Terry, Rocky, Kimball, Debra, Katrina, Krista, Michelle, Sherrie, Stacy, Lonnie, Olivia, Tiffany, Brandy, Ryan, Steve, Cheryl, Sherlyn, Jeff, Rhonda, and Robbie, and Shannon. She had a special place in her heart for those that helped take care of her through her journey with cancer. From the Hospice doctors, nurses, aids, to family friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings; Marilyn Owens, Wayne Adams, and brother-in-law Ronald Leedom, nephew/nieces; Bruce, Jolene and Tonya.

 A memorial visitation will take place on Saturday December 9, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Reichard Funeral Home 400 West Deerfield Road, Union City, IN 47390.
