Ronnie L. Imel, 83, passed away Friday July 31st, 2026, at Pine Knoll Rehabilitation Center in Winchester, IN. He was born in Randolph County, IN. on September 30th, 1942, to Jack and Nila Imel. He grew up in Union City; going to school, getting married and starting a family. He then moved to Ft. Wayne, IN, where he spent many years owning and operating his own restaurant; Pizza Treat. Later he would work for the Hilton Corporation.

Throughout his life, Ron was known for his strong work ethic, soft heart and genuine kindness. He had a great sense of humor and could always put a smile on your face. Ron was the kind of person who made you feel better just being around him.

Ron had a soft spot for animals, especially kitties, often bringing home strays or rescuing a cat from a local shelter. He loved baseball, he was a diehard Cubs fan. His love of trains led him to have an interest in the Ft. Wayne Railroad Historical Society. He also loved music and cooking, but his biggest joy came from spending time with his kids.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Danielle (Allan) Mullen of Hoodsport, WA, Lori (Ronnie) Fox of Venice, FL, Richard (Jeanne) Imel of Waterloo, IN, granddaughter, Alexandra (John) Corey of Brighton, CO, his ex-wife Mary Flynn of Mohave Valley, AZ, and wife, Linda Imel of Union City, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grand parents and many furry friends.

There will be no public calling hours, burial will be held later at the convenience of the family in Buena Vista cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a charitable animal rescue or a railroad society of Donor’s choice, in memory of Ron.
