Roger "Flip" Hoover

Roger "Flip" Hoover, 82, passed away Saturday August 21, 2021 at his residence. He was born October 17, 1938 son of the late Charles Ira and Mary Alberta (Carpenter) Hoover.

Roger graduated with the class of 1957 from Spartanburg High School, was a US Army veteran and also worked at the Union City Body Company for 45 years where he retired from. He was a part of many local organizations including the Union City Lions Club, was a former mayor of Union City, IN, was part of the Barbershop Chorus, was a member of the Wesley UMC and also the Iris Growers of Eastern Indiana.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 54 years, Penny Hoover; children, Chuck (Tonia) Hoover of U.C., IN, Michele Hoover of Norcross, GA; siblings, Keith (Mary Alice) Hoover of Bloomington, IN, Linda (Emory) Jeffers of Maumee,OH, Molly (Thom) Beckley of Cobden, IL, Dee Dee (Steve Beals) Hoover of Orinda, CA; several nieces and nephews and his canine companion Hattie also survive.
He was preceded by his parents and siblings, Niles Hoover, Smoke Hoover, and Hattie Richards.
The family will receive friends from 1-3 PM Saturday August 28, at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Rd., Union City, IN. Services will begin at 3 PM. Burial will be held later at the convenience of the family.
