Roberta Teegarden

Roberta D. "Bertie" Teegarden, 83, passed away December 28, 2018 at Glen Oaks Health Campus in New Castle, Indiana. She was born September 29, 1935 to the late Howard W. & Blanche Harter Mullen. Bertie was a Teacher's Aide at Randolph Eastern Schools for 32 yrs. She attended Our Savior Lutheran Church, active in Community Christmas, Union City Housing Authority, and Preservation Society in Union City. Bertie loved people and doing things for others even when she went to Glen Oaks Health Campus, her love for people and life continued to all she met.
She is survived by a daughter, Jackie (Richard Merrill) Surber- New Castle, Indiana; 2 grandchildren, Jacob Surber, Kirstin (Josh Ruble) Surber; 3 sisters, Joyce (Floyd) Kaup- Celina, Ohio, Kathy (Mike) Cooper- Springs Island, S.C., Barb (Jim) McNally- Indpls., Indiana; brother, Tim Jefferis- Indpls., Indiana.
Preceded by parents; husband, John Edgar Teegarden; son, Mark Teegarden; siblings, Agnes Wigger Mullen, Harold Mullen, Lewis Mullen, Jim Mullen, Phyllis (Woomer) Mullen, twin brother Robert Mullen and half brother, Butch Mullen; Foster Parents, Verl & Helen Jefferis.
Visitation is 4-7 PM Thursday Jan. 3, 2018 at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Rd., Union City, Indiana. Services for Bertie are 1:00 PM Friday January 4, 2019 also at the funeral home with Monte Poling officiating. Burial will follow in the Union City Cemetery.
