Richard LeRoy Hines

UNION CITY - Richard L. Hines, 79, passed away Tuesday Sept. 6, 2016 at Reid Health. He was born October 30, 1936 in Ohio City, Ohio son of the late Virgil and Ilo (Gipe) Hines.  Richard was a U.S. Army Veteran, and worked at Navistar (formerly International Harvester) in Ft. Wayne, Indiana for 31 years.  He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Union City, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Richard is survived by his wife, Marlene Prescott Washler Hines; children, Brent D. (Misty) Hines, Tina R. (Sean) McGinnis both of Van Wert, Ohio; step son, Kevin (Sherri) Fenton of Brecksville, Ohio; grandchildren, Brock Hines, Storm McGinnis, Zachary McGinnis, Sophie Hines; five step grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Bill) Winters of New Haven, Ind.; nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded by his parents; former wife, Arlene Fenton Hines “2010;” an infant sister; three sisters, Barbara Beams, Doris J. Satterfield and Judy Goins; brother, Bernard R. Hines.
Visitation is 5-8 PM Thursday September 8, 2016 at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Rd., Union City, Indiana. Funeral Services are 11:00 AM Friday September 9, also at the funeral home with the Rev. Susan Deverall officiating. Burial will follow in the Union City, Cemetery.  Memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
