Richard Funk, 74, of Union City, Indiana passed away on June 2nd, 2026, surrounded by his Children.
He was born on July 30, 1951, to Sam Funk and Ruth Albertson Funk.
Richard was a devoted man of faith whose relationship with God was the foundation of his life. He faithfully attended Wesley United Methodist Church, where he worshiped on Sundays and participated in Bible study on Wednesdays. Richard often volunteered to serve the local youth community and served on mission trips. His church family was an important part of his life, and he found great joy in growing in his faith and fellowship with others.
Those who knew Richard will remember him for his kindness, steady character, humor, generosity, wisdom, work ethic, and dedication to his family. He had a deep love for family, friends, church, and lived in a way that reflected his values and his care for the people around him.
Richard is survived by his children Jessica Funk, Kyle McConnell, Thomas McConnell, Tricia Quesada, Travis Funk, and many extended family members, friends, and church family who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Funk and Ruth Albertson Funk; and his brothers, Jay Funk, Bill Funk, and Dennis Funk.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 11:00 to 1 p.m. at Reichard Funeral, located at 400 West Deerfield Road Union City Indiana. Burial will follow at Union City Cemetery. Friends and family are warmly invited to gather for a dinner at Wesley United Methodist Church following the burial as we share memories and celebrate his life together.
Richard's life was marked by faith, fellowship, and devotion to those he loved. His family is grateful for the love, prayers, and support shown during this time.
