I wanted so much to visit Max, and called to do so from Dayton today, and chased it down only to discover he had passed on.
I cannot tell you how sorry I am to hear of his loss.  I'm descended from Martha Fisher Harter's brother, James Fisher, and was hoping to work with Max to pick up as much as I can of the family history.
If you are related to Max, please feel free to contact me at:  susanm1215@aol.com or 916-716-3475.  Hoping to hear from a relative so I  don't lose my only Harter contact.

We just found out about Max's passing. We knew him for all the years he taught at Huber Heights and after his retirement. We are sorry that we did not get to see more of him over the years. Please accept our deepest sympathy.

I am so sorry about Max's passing.  He taught me at Huber Heights Schools.  He was charming and witty.  I was happy to see him again later in life.

max was an important part of our family's lives.  we are all saddened by his passing, however he enlightened all our lives.  beginning with john and elizabeth demmitt, gene and esther barnhart, tim and dee barnhart, amy, jaxson and brynna , tom, kara, lincoln, and stacey, max was a great neighbor that touched many generations.   max was a book of knowledge who couldn't operate a hammer!  what a perfect combination for neighbors, we will all miss that.    rest in peace, max
