Mark A. Guggenbiller

Mark A. Guggenbiller, 68 of Union City, IN passed away on March 2, 2024, at Reid Hospital surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on October 8, 1955, in Randolph County to the late Werner W. and Corinne I. (Rhodes) Guggenbiller.

Mark was a 1974 graduate of Union City Community High School and participated in wrestling and football.  He worked at Union City Body Company for 24 years before retiring.   He loved barbecuing, cooking, going to festivals, mushroom hunting, annual trips to Michigan and spending time with family and friends, especially his children and grandchildren.  He was a jokester and always smiling.  Mark was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Union City.  He faithfully attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Union City, IN, was a volunteer fireman, coach, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus, National Wildlife Turkey Federation, National Rifle Association and National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association.

Survivors include his children Kyle Guggenbiller of Osgood, OH, Brandee Guggenbiller of Richmond, IN, special friend Rachel Moystner and her son Aaron, grandchildren Mahlya Carter, Mehki Carter, Taeon Tate, siblings Crystal Dodd of Union City, Scott (Janie) Guggenbiller of Sidney, OH, Kelly (Jeff) Guggenbiller of Indianapolis, nieces Lee Ann (Scott) Foster, Katie (Ben) Knapp, as well as great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Paul Dodd.

Visitation will take place on Saturday March 16, 2024, from 12 noon to 2:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church 1470 IN-28 Union City, IN with a memorial service at 2:00.  Graveside services to follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Union City.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Indiana University Neuroscience Center.
