Leonard Earl Burkett

Leonard Earl Burkett, 97, of Union City, Ohio passed away November 29, 2020.  He was born March 9, 1923 in Troy, Ohio, son of the late Earl & Sylvia Vogan Burkett.  He served as a WWII logistics specialist with the Ohio Naval Reserve and Ohio Guard.  He moved to Union City where he met his wife of 50 years, Leora Irene (Mote) Burkett (deceased).  He retired from the Union City Body Co. He and his wife then moved to Haines City, FL where they frolicked with other Union City retirees.  He was a life member of the Elks, Eagles, VFW, & American Legion.
He is survived by his sons: Tim (Glenna) Fairborn OH, and Ric (Deb) Keystone Heights FL, granddaughters: Heidi George (Mike) Greenville OH, Cassie Shives (John) Union City OH, grandsons: Brian (Jennifer) Clover SC, Mark (Denise) Wheat Ridge CO, Todd (Tammy) & Troy (Sherrie) Greenville OH, Chris Weimer Fairborn OH, Great-Granddaughters: Kaley Flores (Nick) Clover NC, Kelsey, Emma, & Tabitha Stewart Greenville OH, Olivia Weimer Miamisburg OH, Juniper & Makayler Shives Union City OH, Emma & Addison Wheat Ridge CO, Great-Grandsons: Cody (Rachel) Klamath Falls OR, Joshua, Jason, David, Michael, Aaron, & Jeremy Stewart Greenville OH, Jacob & Jeremiah (Maicie) Snyder Greenville OH, Tyler, Ian, & Jaxon Wheat Ridge CO, Landon & Asher Shives Union City OH, Liam Weimer Miamisburg OH, Great-Great-Granddaughters:  Riley & Ruthie Flores Clover NC, Liliray & Aryanna Greenville OH, Great-Great-Grandsons: Eli & Zeke Snyder Greenville OH, Nieces: Grace (Lewellen) Harsh Combs & children Diana Mong (Mike) both deceased; Timothy Harsh and Tom Harsh Greenville OH, Carolyn (Paulus) Leffel (Ken) Lima, OH & children Shelli Tepe (Jay) Queen Creek, AZ, Kendra Myers (Craig) Richmond, KY, Nephews: Robert R. He was preceded by his parents, wife, son Jeffrey, sisters Merle, Aciee, Virginia, Helen & Mary, brothers Delbert (known as Benny), Raffe, & Clyde
