Kristopher J. Mills (Kris) passed away Wednesday, June 3 2026 at IU Health following a short illness surrounded by his family.
Kirs was born July 16, 1974 in Union City, IN to Max and Karen Shane Mills.
He was a devoted son and sibling and loved all of his family including aunts, uncles, cousins, and really enjoyed whenever there were family outings and get togethers. He was a graduate with the class of 1992 of Union City Community High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and making bottles at Anchor Glass Winchester, IN until a disability forced him to pursue a different path.
He was a member of the Union City Elks Club 1534 where he also served as bar manager gaining many new friends during that time. He truly enjoyed cruises, always talking about the special deals he was offered. He was and avid Colts, Reds, and UK fan.
He enjoyed life and the many friends he had and was always open to making new friends. Never a complainer, no one would know all the challenges that life had dealt him. His special love was his faithful companion Kassie his Basset Hound who kept him company whenever he wasn’t working.
He is survived by mother Karen Mills, of Union City, IN, two brothers; Stace Mills (Monica) of Union City, IN, Kerry Mills (Shannon Tompson) of New Ross, IN, a sister; Stephanie Mills of Union City, IN and a half-brother Bill Mills of Elkhart, IN, nephews and nieces Austin Cook of union City, Ellexsis Drew (Chase) of Parker City, Courtney Mills of Union City, Tyler Mills of Winchester, also surviving is a great niece Josie Drew.
He was preceded in death by his father Max Mills, his grandparents Harold “Bill” and Minnie Shane, Ralph Mills and Edith Mills Quick and a half-brother Jeff Mills.
There will be no formal service or calling. The family will be hosting a celebration of life at a later date.
