Korleen Mangas

Korleen Sell Mangas,98, of Union City, IN. passed away on December 6, 2023, at Randolph Nursing and Rehabilitation in Winchester.  She was born on August 22, 1925, to the late Virgil and Oressa (Royce) Sell.  She married Owen “Johnny” Mangas on November 7, 1942 He preceded her in death in 1971. 

Korleen loved spending time with her family and watching it grow   She was always there with praise for everyone’s achievements. She was extremely organized and filled notebooks with pages of pictures, notes, cards, and newspaper clippings throughout the years of each child, grandchild and great grandchild.  Her home had an open door, and we all knew where to find the frozen mini candy bars in the freezer!              

Her faith was extremely important to her throughout her adult life. She was a founding member of Community Fellowship Church in Union City, IN. She read and studied her Bible every day, praying for family, friends, and those in need of prayer. She was always ready and able to quote a special Bible verse when the situation arose. We never began a family gathering or dinner without her blessing.  

Survivors include her children; Emily (Everett) Gates of Union City, OH, Mike (Deb) Mangas, Warsaw, IN.  Melanie (Jerry) Coles of Lawerence, KS, son-in-law, Don Bergmann of Owasso, OK. ,10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter, Cinde Bergmann and siblings Dixie Byrum, Bob Sell, and Jane Schafer.  

A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Reichard Funeral Home 400 W. Deerfield Road Union City, IN. from 12:00pm to 2:00pm Funeral Service will directly follow the Visitation at 2:00pm

Graveside services will take place at New Lisbon Cemetery on Monday, December 11 at 3:00pm
