Karen Geanean Jones

November 28, 1958 — November 2, 2025

Winchester, IN

Karen Geanean Jones-Moore, 66, of Winchester, Indiana, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 28, 1958, in Albany, Kentucky, to the late Robert Albertson and Rebecca Thrasher Albertson of Lynn, Indiana.

Karen was preceded in death by her beloved soulmate, Scott Moore, and her son, Chad Jones. She will be deeply missed by her children, Monica (Jerrod) Graves of Winchester, Darian Jones of Union City, and Amber (Branden) Abel of Winchester. She absolutely adored her grandchildren—Madison, Samantha, Tre, Eli, Darian, Braxton, Carter, and Darienne—and took immense pride in her great-grandchildren, Braxton II, Otis, and Emersyn. Her family was truly the light of her life.

She is also survived by her sisters, Connie (Bruce) Johnson and Becky Lutz; her brothers, Frank Albertson and Bobby (Kinsey) Albertson; and several beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who cherished her company.

Karen attended Randolph Southern Jr.-Sr. High School and was known for her strong work ethic and caring heart. She spent many years in retail management with Airway, London Fog, and Target before beginning a long and dedicated career in manufacturing at JCI (Alphabet, MSSL) in Portland, Indiana, where she worked faithfully from 1988 until her retirement in 2020. In addition to her professional career, Karen spent countless hours helping on the family farm, where her determination and love for the outdoors truly shined.

Known for her humor, kindness, and the way she made everyone feel at home, Karen had a gift for making ordinary moments special. She cherished time spent with family and friends and always offered a listening ear, a hearty laugh, or a good meal (and great desserts) shared around the table. She enjoyed going to the beach for vacation and spending time with her family. Her other passions included cooking, gardening, reading, and sewing. The quilts she created will be treasured forever. The culinary skills she shared will be handed down for many generations along with her special recipes.

Karen leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, hard work, faith, and family devotion that will continue through all who knew her. Her family and many friends will forever treasure her memory.
