Julius Edison McClish Jr., 92, of Winchester, Indiana, entered into his eternal rest on October 14, 2025, at his home surrounded by loved ones. Born on December 10, 1932, in Winchester to the late Julius and Emma Lucille (Morris) McClish, he lived a full and faithful life dedicated to his family, his church, and his many passions.
Julius retired from Anchor Hocking Glass after 30+ years of hard work and dedication. He was known not only for his strong work ethic but also for his mechanical skills, often found in his garage repairing cars—a pastime he truly loved.
A devoted member of the United Pentecostal Church in Winchester, Julius lived his faith through service and fellowship. His love for music was another defining part of his life. A self-taught musician, he played several instruments including the guitar, violin, and his beloved harmonica. Julius also had a deep affection for animals and was known for his kind heart and gentle spirit.
Julius is survived by his two daughters, Amanda (Jerry) Patterson and Tammy McCoy; one sister Wanda (Terry) Holden, grandchildren: Carlene McClish, Julius (Bub) McClish IV, Francis Hale, Christy Reynolds, Heather Priest, Robert Arthur, Eric Arthur, Michael Williams, Derek Williams (deceased), Jerald Williams, Elijah Williams, Nicholas Hinojosa, Taylor McClish-Bush, Lindsey Garcia, Bailey McCoy, and Holly McCoy. He will be missed by several great and great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife of 44 years, Carolyn Sue (Holden) McClish; son Julius McClish III, and daughters Viola Arthur, Bonnie Hinojosa, and Connie McClish; brother Martin McClish, sisters Phyllis Shriver, Mary Alice Hunley, and Beverly McCord.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at the United Pentecostal Church, 460 E. Elm St., Winchester, with Pastor Greg Pruett officiating. Burial will follow at Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester.
Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday at the church prior to the service.
Julius’s life was one of quiet strength, kindness, and devotion. His memory will be cherished and honored by all who knew him.
