Joan M. Mason

Joan M. Mason went to be with the Lord on May 13, 2026 at Reid Hospital. She was born on March 13, 1938 in Union City, IN daughter of the late Hiram and Florence Powers.

Joan worked at Sheller Globe as a telephone operator in Union City, IN and later they moved to Martinsburg, WV where she worked at the IRS until she retired. She loved teaching water exercise to the ladies at Greenville YMCA. Joan loved singing at church on Sunday morning and singing solos.

Joan was married to Doug Mason for 61 years and is survived by her son Michael and nieces and nephews from Union City, IN.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, sisters Cylestia Whitesell and Evelyn Moore.

A celebration of life service will take place at 2:00 pm on Sunday May 31, 2026 at New Lisbon Cristian Church 7996 E 500 N Union City, IN 47390. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place later at the convenience of the family.
