Jerry E. Osborne, age 83 passed away on Wednesday, July 26th peacefully at his residence with his loving wife by his side.
Born October 27, 1939, to Chalmer Eugene and Kathern Pauline (Mangas) Osborne.
Jerry was a 1957 graduate of Jackson High School which he loved. Every country drive included going past the school and later the location after it was torn down.
Jerry retired after 43 years with the UCBC where he held many positions in management. He enjoyed the friendship of his workers. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 57 years Judy, and 3 sons, Brett wife Kim, Brian wife Tammy, Brad wife Beverly, and daughter Brandy Boyce husband Steve, 11 grandchildren Rebecca (Cadel) Crowl, Jonathan Osborne, Kassidy Osborne, Tiffany Osborne, Brittany Osborne, Breanna Boyce, Macy Boyce, Seth (Blanca) Whitesel, Arielle (Thomas) Hatton, Harley (Aaron) Thomas, Shelby (Adam) Hofstetter, 12 great-grandchildren John, Riley, Eli, Waylon, Samuel, Elijah, Griffin, Miles, Nolan, Grace, Maddilyn, and Emily, brother Roger (Hope) Osborne, and cousins Billy and JoAnn Mangas.
Jerry enjoyed dabbling in farming with his John Deere, riding his Harley, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was an Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Bengals fan. He liked to travel after his retirement and visited all 50 states and took 5 cruises to several countries. He camped for years and became card playing friends with his camping neighbors Ron and Pat Dowd, with whom they traveled and played cards for almost 40 years.
Jerry was a member of the New Lisbon Christian Church from a young age and shortly before his passing, he was made a Deacon Emeritus acknowledging his service to the church.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, brother Phillip, sister-in-law Sandra, sister-in-law Lois, and his miniature pincher Koko, friends Bob Zehringer, George Townsend, and Pat Dowd.
Jerry bravely endured 5 years of a terrible debilitating disease.
Visitation to be held Sunday, July 30th from 2-5 pm at Reichard Funeral Home in Union City, Indiana. Funeral service to be held at the New Lisbon Chirstian Church on Monday, July 31st at 11 am with viewing 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Lisbon Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Lisbon Christian Church.
