Jennifer Lynn Winkle

April 14, 1964 — September 16, 2025

Winchester, IN

Jennifer Lynn (Cook) Winkle, 61, also known as JDub, J-Lo, or Jenny from the Block, of Winchester, departed on her final trip to be with her lord and savior September 16, 2025.

Jenny fought and overcame many battles throughout her life and although cancer may have “won” this one, Jenny was able to be Jenny until the very end, surrounded by her grandbabies, her *girls* as she would say, and her son via telephone. Surrounded by so much love, sounds like a win to me.

Jenny was born on April 14, 1964, in Winchester to Peggy (Hendrickson) and the late Bernard Cook. She attended both Monroe Central and Winchester High School, graduating from WCHS in 1982. She had a love for softball and was a proud member of the Farmland All Stars team. Jenny held various job titles throughout her life, but her ultimate favorite was being Grandma. Jenny was honestly just one of the kids, and they all loved her for it.

Look up the word hippie and you’ll find something to the extent of “one who embraces life to the fullest. Promoting peace, love, and happiness.” If you knew Jenny, you’d know that is exactly who she was! Jenny had a carefree attitude that was contagious to all of those around her. She was the most selfless & supportive mom and grandma we could ask for.

"We will do more than survive, we will dance."

Left to dance in her honor are her precious grandchildren, Jadalyn Plessinger, Liam Newman, Cash Newman, Wesley Eggers; daughter, Tiara 'TJ' Winkle (Earnie "Burt" Eggers); son, Christopher Newman; chosen daughter, Raquel Ward; mother, Peggy Johnson (Husband Dale); brother, Jim Cook (Wife Doreen); bonus grandkids Raelee and Kovan Ward; and an enormous amount of family and friends who just enjoyed Jenny for who she was. Jenny was preceded in death by the love of her life, Thomas Winkle; father, Bernard Cook; stepbrother Brian Duncan; in-laws Oscar and Wavie Winkle; and several friends along life's journey.

The family will receive visitors from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon on Friday September 26, 2025, at Reichard Funeral Home 400 W. Deerfield Road Union City, IN 47390.

A funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon with burial to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
