Jack Livingston

Jack Livingston, 90, of Union City, IN died peacefully Friday, May 28, 2021 at American Heritage Assisted Living in Union City where he had resided the past 2 years.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Marlene (Wright) Livingston; two children, Brad (Jennifer Noffsinger)Livingston and Trish (Dale) Gelhaus; six grandchildren, Brittany(Zach)Ullrich, Brooke(Greg)Holsworth, Lauren(Matt)Caputo, Ben(Bri)Gelhaus, Lindsay(Erik)Zicht , Ali Gelhaus; 13 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Sara Wright and a brother-in-law, Jim Spradling.
Jack was involved in the auto industry his entire life starting his career at the UCBC. He then went to Ernie Myers Ford as a salesman before starting his own used car lot (Jack’s Auto Sales) in Greenville, OH. In February, 1968 he bought the Ford dealership in Union City, IN and in 1972 switched to Chev. Pont. & Olds. In 1978 he gave up the new car franchise and began used car sales and service which he continued to operate along with his daughter Trish and two of the most loyal employees as well as friends, Alan Longfellow & Stanley Clark. In 2019 he was forced to retire due to his health but always made sure they kept his legacy going. Jack was a member of the Elks Lodge #1534 in Union City. Family was his greatest love in life. He could be found attending his grandchildren’s various sporting events across the Midwest. He was an avid gin player and was never too busy for a game with his grandchildren. The family would like to give the employees of American Heritage a special thanks for the loving care they gave him the past two years. We will forever be grateful.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Livingston, Aline Noggle and stepfather Lawrence Noggle, infant son, Randall Livingston, in-laws Chet &Pauline Wright, brother-in-law, Dan Wright, sister-in-law, Patricia Spradling and infant granddaughter, Emily Livingston.
The family will be holding a private graveside service to celebrate Jack’s life on Monday June 7, 2021. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jack’s memory be made to: Jack Livingston Memorial Fund c/o Citizen State Bank 200 West Oak St Union City, IN 47390.
