UNION CITY - Helen Joyce (Patterson) Goers, 78, passed away Friday July 15, 2016 at Wayne Hospital in Greenville, Ohio. She was born October 10, 1937 in Union City, Ind., daughter of the late John Paul and Oga Skidmore Patterson.
Helen worked at the Dairy Barn in Altamote, IL for 20 years and was a short order cook. She also enjoyed reading books, facebook, and loved the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include her children, Susan (Tim) Hammond of Dayton, Ohio, Brad Goers of Altamote, IL, Brent (Julie) Goers of Mauston, WI, Tom Goers of Greenville, Ohio; grandchildren, Amanda (Brian) Walsh, Emily (Steven) Stanfield, Casey Goers, Jerik Goers; great granddaughter, Kayleigh Stanfield; a brother, Francis (Peggy) Patterson of Union City, OH.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Ann Margaret Swabb and a brother, John Patterson.
Services are 7 p.m. Wednesday July 20, 2016 at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Rd., Union City, IN. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Wednesday also at the funeral home. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
