Gilbert Bemis

Gilbert Duane Bemis, 89, passed away April 30, 2016 after a brief illness at his home. He was born January 30, 1937 to the late Ernest & Melissa Mangas Bemis. Gilbert worked at Cal-Maine Foods for 29 years and Van Leer in Greenville, Ohio. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #289 Versailles, Ohio, and lifelong member of the First Christian Church Union City, Indiana.
He is survived by; a son, Michael Bemis of Union City, Ohio; 6 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter; brother, Donald (Mary) Bemis of Versailles, Ohio; nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded by; his parents; 1st wife, Alberta (Ary) Bemis, 2nd wife; Mary (Baker) Bemis; daughter, Rhoda Baker; son, Steven Bemis; 10 brothers and 3 sisters.
Memorial Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday May 14, 2016 at the First Christian Church of Union City, Indiana with Rev. Harold Libert officiating.
