Evelyn Joyce Jones

Aug 8, 1938 — Oct 23, 2026

Union City, IN

Evelyn Joyce (Million) Jones, age 88, of Union City, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 23, 2026 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana. She was born in Winchester, Indiana on August 8, 1938 to the late Herschel Davis and Edith (Turner) Million.

Upon graduation from McKinley High School in Winchester, Indiana, Evelyn graduated from Ball State University with her Bachelors in Science and her Masters in Art Education. Evelyn spent her entire 37 years teaching art to many generations of students at Randolph Eastern schools in Union City, Indiana. She taught all grade levels in art, from elementary age through high school. She was always excited to share about her involvement in the production of the movie "Hoosiers" with the group of Randolph Eastern participants in 1985. She very much enjoyed the experience of that production. She continued to do her own personal works of art with many styles of drawing and often would enter them in local art shows at "The Art Association of Randolph County". Even in her 70's and 80's she continued to do various styles of drawings and paintings and even made and designed her own jewelry.

She attended First Christian Church in Union City until their closure. She was very faith based in her lifestyle, even after she was unable to attend.

She read and studied the scripture daily and would journal about scripture and her perspective of God's teaching.

Evelyn was always proud of the accomplishments of her granddaughters and always wanting to hear what life endeavors they were experiencing.

Her love for her Granddaughters was bigger than the Universe. She often would respond to anyone that said they loved her that "I love you more"

Evelyn is survived by her brother, Dale (Rebecca) Million, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, granddaughters, Heidi Jones of Portland, Oregon and Kourtney Jones of Fort Wayne, Indiana. Evelyn is also survived by her nieces, Cheryl and Lisa of Rowlett, Texas, Jenelle Million of Houston, Texas, and Kimberly Million of Indianapolis, Indiana. She is also survived by 3 very special people in her life, Rachel Moystner and her son Aaron Moystner of Union City, Indiana and Kristine Jones of Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Anthony Dee Jones, and her sister Arlene (Million) Richards.

Evelyn lived a faith based life and put her hope and trust in the Lord that He would always be with her and provide what she needed. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and learned the appreciation of the Arts.
