Edward Kenneth Marquis

UNION CITY - Edward Kenneth Marquis, 58, formerly of Lebanon, Ind. passed away  Monday October 1, 2018 at his residence. He was born October 19,1959 in Union City, Ind, to the late Edward D. and Bertha Clear Marquis, he was the eldest son of 7 siblings.
Ed graduated in 1978 from Union City High School and went directly into the US Air Force where he was stationed at Right Patterson Air Force Base, he received an Honorable discharge one month before being deployed to a tour of duty in  Germany. He was a proud Honor Guard, serving in countless services for our fallen Veterans and also was a member of the American Legion of Union City.
He was last employed at the VA  Administration in Indianapolis, before taking an early retirement in 2014. He had a variety of skills, working at Easy Rake, Sun Fiber optics, 7-Up Bottling, Lebanon IGA, Ulen Country Club, and also the Zionsville and Westfield Street Dept. His hobbies included watching and playing basketball, attending concerts, watching the Colts, coin  and antique collecting, playing the lottery, spending time with family and friends, most of all a proud Grandpa to Lucy and Taylor Marquis. Eddy never knew a stranger and loved to socialize.
Survivors include his sons, Nathan (Katie) Marquis, Cole Allen Marquis; grandchildren, Lucy and Taylor Marquis; brother, Michael (Kim) Marquis; sisters, Kathy Waugh, Kim Baldwin, and Kristy (Chad) Dodge; 9 nieces; 6 nephews; 9 great nieces and nephews also.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two sisters; Karen Kay Marquis and Kelly Thurzia Perlaki.
Visitation is 2-4 PM Saturday Oct 6, at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Rd., Union City. The funeral service is 4 PM Saturday also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Fountain Park Cemetery, Winchester, IN. Military Burial rites will be conducted by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Randolph County Honor Guard with envelopes available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.reichardfh.com
