Doris Jean Harshman

Doris Jean Harshman, 86, of Spartanburg, passed away on January 22, 2024. She was married to Glen Jr for 62 years, wed July 4, 1957. She was born July 19, 1937, to Adrian and Mary (Paulus) Liette of Ft. Recovery, OH. She was their seventh child, of which one survives, her sister Margaret Wright of Ft. Recovery, OH. 

Doris Jean enjoyed designing and sewing dresses with the extension homemakers, drawing with liquid embroidery, playing piano and singing, gardening and canning, providing a nice meal for anyone stopping by, and beating her husband in euchre. Her biggest joys were her faith, husband and sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. 

Doris Jean leaves to cherish her memory, sons, Rex (Tonya) Harshman of Winchester, IN; Tom (Patty) Harshman of Spartanburg, IN; Grandchildren Terri (Sarah) Harshman of Dayton, OH, Ashley (Broc) Cole of Richmond, IN, Stephanie (Jorden) Mifsud of Lynn, IN, Matt (Emily) Harshman of South Charleston, OH, and Braxton Harshman of Winchester, IN; Great-Grandchildren Blakeleigh Burns, Kason Mifsud, Tali Harshman, Trick Harshman, Jase Cole, Kade Mifsud, Kabel Mifsud, and Caroline Harshman.

Doris Jean was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sister-in-laws Joseph, John, Lawrence (Alice), and Vernon (Rebecca) Liette; sister Marie Liette; and brother-in-law Harding Wright.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 27th, from 11:00am to 1:00pm, at the Reichard Funeral Home in Union City, followed by a Mass at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Lunch will be provided at the parish hall after Mass. Burial will then be at the Spartanburg Cemetery.
