David 'Dave' Lee Woodbury, a dedicated father and a loving and devoted Pap, passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2025, in his hometown of Winchester, Indiana. Born on October 22, 1962, Dave lived a life filled with love, family, and dedication that touched the hearts of all who knew him.
Dave was the son of Keith and Genevieve Woodbury. He grew up in Winchester, where he attended Winchester High School and graduated in 1981. He worked for Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), where he worked until his early retirement in 2016.
On June 11, 1983, Dave married the love of his life, Stacey McCord. Their union was a testament to devotion, lasting 40 wonderful years until Stacey’s sudden passing in January 2024. Together, they built a beautiful family, filled with joy and cherished memories. Dave's love for Stacey was unwavering, and their bond remained strong even beyond her departure.
Dave is survived by his three children: Zach (Brittany) Woodbury, Zane (Britany) Woodbury, and Jody Woodbury (David Rush), who all carry forward his legacy with love and pride. He was a proud Pap to seven grandchildren: Sylas, Tess, and Blair Woodbury; Sawyer and Addie Woodbury; and Laine and Noble Delk. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he found immense joy in watching them learn, grow and thrive. He was able to show and teach them great things in the short amount of time they were given with him.
In addition to his children and grandchildren, Dave is survived by his mother, Jenny Woodbury, and his siblings: Denny (Vicky) Woodbury, Connie (Randy) Hoover, and Dean (Kelly) Woodbury. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law, and cousins.
Dave was a man who knew his own mind—stubborn, yes, but in a way that spoke of deep conviction, loyalty, and an unwavering sense of who he was and who he thought you were and could be. Once he believed in something, he stood by it with sometimes not-so-quiet determination and resolve, a trait that defined much of his life and love.
Dave lived on his own terms, faced challenges head-on, rarely backed down, and taught those around him the value of determination and perseverance, even when a firm touch was needed. His firmness was often paired with a dry wit and sense of humor, and those who knew him best learned that behind his hard exterior was a heart that cared deeply, even if he didn’t always show it with words or affection.
He leaves behind a legacy for his children and grandchildren, showing the pride, strength, and steady presence he was in their lives. Though not easily persuaded, he will be deeply missed and remembered for his stability, resilience, and even his stubborn ways, because those traits made him who he was.
Dave’s absence leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his influence lives on in the lives he touched, the lessons he instilled, and the love he gave in his own steadfast way. Though he may no longer be here physically, his spirit remains—unyielding, resolute, and forever a part of us. His life and loyalty will live on in all who knew him.
There will be a public visitation from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday January 3, 2026, at Reichard Funeral Home 400 W. Deerfield Road Union City, IN. A service to honor David's life will be held at 1:00 pm with private burial to follow.
David Lee Woodbury will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of his children and grandchildren. May he rest in peace now, reunited with the love of his life and surrounded by the love he so freely gave throughout his life.
