D. Carlton Clevenger

D. Carlton Clevenger, 86, passed peacefully into glory Sunday November 12, 2017. He touched many lives with his love of teaching and love for Randolph County. Carlton was born December 26, 1930 in Evansville, Indiana son of the late Donald & Hazel (Hiatt) Clevenger.
  Carlton was a teacher for 44 yrs. having taught at Wayne High School, Saratoga High School, Economy High School , and Monroe Central High School teaching Vocational Ag. He was the founding father of F.F.A. at Monroe Central High School, member of New Lisbon Christian Church where he served as an Elder, adult Sunday School teacher and lifelong member. He was a 4-H leader, a County Coucilman from 1996-2012, graduate of Purdue University, and Ball State University for his Master's Degree,
He is survived by his wife of 66 Yrs. Marilyn (Edwards) Clevenger; children, Margie A. (Gary) Max of Knifely, KY., Lisa D. (Jeff) Steers of Kokomo, Indiana, Daniel C. (Kim) Clevenger of Southport, Indiana, Dean E. (Freeman) Clevenger of Cincinnati, Ohio, Amy C. (Brad) Hoggatt of U.C., Indiana; grandchildren, Doran (Serena) East, Shelby (Kevin) Leverland, Cameron, Jarrod & Aaron Steers, Emily (Stephen) Gearhart, Andrew Clevenger, Reagan, Braydon, and Brennan Hoggatt; 2 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; a brother, James (Connie) Clevenger of Centerville, Ohio; nieces and nephews also.
Preceded by parents, and a sister, Annette Fabert.
Visitation is 4-7 P.M. Thursday November 16, 2017 at Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Road Union City, Indiana. Services are Friday at 11:00 A.M. at New Lisbon Christian Church with calling 1 hour prior to services. Burial will be in Lisbon Cemetery.
