Losantville, Ind. – Charles William “Bill” Price, 72, husband, daddy, papaw and friend exchanged this for a better life on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 following an extended illness.
He was born in Danville, KY on Feb. 20, 1942 to Everett and Mollie (Stephens) Price but spent the majority of his life in Losantville, Ind. He was the youngest of 8 children and leaves to cherish his memory one brother Stanley Price and one sister Anna Noel. He was a hard worker retiring from Chevrolet of Muncie after 33 years of service but that is not what he will be re-membered for. His greatest accomplishment in life was the amazing legacy of love he has left for his family.
He married the love of his life Marcella (Gordon) Price 52 years ago and they had two daughters Tonya (Tim) Swaim of Losantville and Stacy (Chip) Mehaffey of Winchester, and one son Jeff (Rachel) Price of Portland. He taught them how to honor God, work hard, dream freely and love with no restraints.
He enjoyed sharing his favorite things with family and friends which included a strong affinity for animals of all kinds, tending to his well manicured lawn and garden, sitting on the bank of a good fishing hole or singing, while accompanied always by his wife, in his beautiful “Jim Reeves” like voice at the Losantville Separate Baptist Church where he was a member for 60 years.
He took extreme pride in his grandchildren Monty (Danielle) Ervin, Austin Swaim, Chad (Samantha) Ervin, Garrett Swaim, Blake Price, Whitney (Dave) Andrews, Caden Price, Olivia Swaim and Mackenzie Mehaffey.
Of all his earthly treasures, none could make his eyes light up more than seeing one of his great grandbabies enter the room. Among those he held closest to his heart are Gavin Swaim, Maleigh and Aberee Ervin, Peyton Ervin, Ryker Price and Emma Andrews.
He is reunited in heaven with his father and mother Everett and Mollie Price, his brothers Howard, Carl, Cecil and Kenneth Price, sister Mildred Beard and grandson Garrett Swaim.
Calling will be held at Losantville Separate Baptist Church in Losantville, Ind. from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday August 24 and services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing beginning at 10:00. Final resting place will be a Riverside Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to Reichard Funeral Home Inc. 400 W. Deerfield Rd. Union City, Ind. or expressed online at www.reichardfh.com.
