Charles Bertke

Charles Joseph 'Joe' Bertke, 70, passed away Wednesday March 3, 2021 at Mercer Health Hospital in Coldwater, OH. Joe was born July 13, 1950 in Greenville, OH son of the late Charles Julius Bertke and Betty Singleman Bertke.
He worked at the Union City Body Company. Joe was a veteran who served with the U.S. Army and toured in Vietnam, and was involved with the Army National Guard. He belonged to UAW local 494, Versailles VFW, Eagles #2790. Joe's passion was riding motorcycyles.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carroll Brown Bertke; children, Wendy Jo Hanck (Richard) of Virginia Beach, VA; brothers, Donald (Susan) Bertke of Beavercreek, OH and Tim Bertke of Florida; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews also survive.
He was preceded by his parents.
Friends and family may call from 12 Noon - 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. A celebration of life service will be held 1 PM Tuesday also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the New Lisbon Cemetery, Eric Swenson will conduct the services. Memorial contributions can be made to Ohio's Hospice or State of the Heart Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
