Union City, IN

Brian Phillip Jenkins of Union City, IN went to be with the Lord on April 27, 2026. He was born on April 16, 1958 to the late Harley and Edith (Jones) Jenkins in Corydon Indiana.

Brian devoted his life to ministry and family, faithfully serving the Lord for more than four decades. Brian was a man of remarkable creativity, talent, and wit. He was an artist, award-winning clarinet player, and a professional drummer. He worked as a sign painter and designer eventually serving as a lead draftsman and engineer at Federal Sign based in Texas. He owned and operated a graphic design business before being called full time into ministry. He was also skilled in guitar and piano, playing and writing music both as a personal passion and as a way to uplift others and honor God.

Licensed in 1995, he began his calling in evangelism with Life in Jesus Ministries before stepping into pastoral leadership, where he served multiple congregations in Indiana with steadfast commitment – first at Household of Faith in Crandall, then at The River in Cambridge City, and lastly at Calvary in Union City. Brain was ordained in 2012 and served 18 years in his final chapter in ministry, where his instruction and unwavering faith left a lasting impact on those around him.

His ministry extended far beyond the pulpit where he dedicated his life to serving others and remained actively throughout his community. His work included children’s church, Vacation Bible School, media ministry, worship ministry, administrative director, publications both printed and online, radio, nursing home visitation, academic instruction, men’s fellowship, Chamber of Commerce membership, and food pantry efforts. His life reflected a genuine commitment to serving people with faith and purpose.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, and as a faithful servant of God.

Survivors include his wife Susan Jenkins of Union City, sons Phillip Jenkins of Greenville, OH and Stephen Jenkins of Union City, IN, siblings Marilyn Daugherty of New Albany, IN, Sharon Bridges of Henryville, IN, Judy (Bernie) Carrier of Georgetown, IN, Harley Jenkins Jr. (Terry) of Brandenburg, KY, Dorothy Satterfield of Depauw, IN, Karen Jones of Burbank, CA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
