Bradley Rydell Fisher

Bradley Rydell Fisher, age 50, Town Marshal of Lynn, Indiana, tragically made the ultimate sacrifice on July 29th, while serving and protecting the community he loved so dearly.

Born on June 10, 1976 in Richmond, Indiana. Brad graduated from Randolph Southern High School in 1994 before answering the call to public service. He proudly joined the Lynn, Indiana Fire Department in 1995 as a Firefighter/EMT serving for 31 years while being the Captain of the fire department for over 10 of those years. Brad then joined the Lynn Police Department in 1998 after graduating from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Class 98-134. Brad became the Town Marshal 25 years ago and has been L1 ever since. Whether wearing the badge of a firefighter or law enforcement officer, his commitment to protecting others never wavered.

He proudly served his community for over 30 years as a law enforcement officer, volunteer firefighter, EMT, coach, umpire, and mentor.

Beyond the uniform Brad was a devoted husband, a loving father, and an active member of Lynn Friends Church. He is survived by his wife of 29 years Jeanette (Harris) Fisher; his children Zoe Fisher, Colton and Skylie (Lutz) Fisher of Lynn, IN. He is also survived by his parents Ron and Vonda Fisher, brother, Jason Fisher (Amber) of Michigan, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and a community that will never forget his courage.

Brad loved baseball and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. He first played and then coached baseball at Randolph Southern High School and was inducted into the Randolph Southern Hall of Fame in 2016. Brad also was a very devoted umpire and received the highest honor this year by serving as the third base umpire for the IHSAA Class 3A state championship game at Victory Field. Brad also selflessly served as a member on the Secret Families of Randolph County Board bringing Christmas to hundreds of children and families each year.

Brad Fisher showed up - no matter the request, no matter the call, he was there and his selfless legacy will never be forgotten. His loss is immeasurable but we will hold on to his laughter, his story telling, his compassion and his caring heart. He touched everyone he met and made us all better people.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 2nd from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Randolph Southern High School Gymnasium with full police honors to follow. Brad will be laid to rest at the Spartanburg Cemetery in Spartanburg, Indiana.
