Betty E McIntyre

Betty E. McIntyre, 83, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.  She was born on May 13, 1932 in Burkesville, Kentucky to the late Emmit and Lyda (Davidson) Scott.  She and her late husband, Kenneth (d. 1996), moved to Indiana in 1951 where they both worked at Sheller Globe and raised their family in Union City.  She was the loving mother of Jerry (Cathy) McIntyre,  Brenda (John) Adelsperger, and Randy (Asko) McIntyre;  grandmother to John (Jayme) Adelsperger, Jim (Beth) Adelsperger, Julie (Don) Wallace,  Brandon (Jessica) McIntyre and Kelly McIntyre; and great grandmother to Campbell & Carsen Adelsperger; Mackenna, Grayson & Brayden Wallace; and Ashur & Samuel McIntyre.  In addition she is survived by 2 brothers George & Bobby Scott and sister Willowdean (Jim)Sparks.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenneth; brothers - Austin, Preston, Herman, Malcolm, Kermit & Amos; sisters -  Robbie Anderson, Edna Hungate-Harvey, Gealot Scott, Gelean Scott, Shirley Scott, & Louise Pullman; and infant grandson Cuyler McIntyre.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. On Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Reichard Funeral Home, 400 W. Deerfield Road, Union City, Indiana.  The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., with burial at the Union City Cemetery to follow.  For most of the past 4 years, Betty resided at the Union City Assisted Living facility where the staff cared for her so compassionately.  Therefore, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heritage Partners/Union City Assisted Living Facility, Attn:  Activities Fund, 204 Staudt Drive, Union City, IN 47390 to assist with the caring programs they provide to the residents.  Envelopes for donations will also be available at the funeral home.
