Bernadette C. Cotter, 96, passed away Saturday May 27, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 25, 1920 daughter of the late Joseph and Blanche L. Gordon Stemley. Bernadette worked at the Northside Cafeteria for many years and was a homemaker. She was a member of St Mary's Catholic Church where she served on Church Council and the Finance Committee, and she was also a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. Bernadette loved going to watch her grandchildren play in all their sporting activities.
She is survived by her children, Patrick (Jeannie) Cotter of Kettering, Ohio, Beverly (Ray) Hurst of Jacksonville, Florida, Peggy (Larry) Perry of Indpls., Indiana, Tom Cotter of Mishawaka, Indiana, Linda (Steve) Wilcox of U.C., Indiana, Jack (Jodi) Cotter of Ridgeville, Indiana, Janet (Derrick) Mote of U.C., Indiana; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John W. Cotter; grandson, Brian Hurst; great grandson, Jude Cotter; 6 sisters and 5 brothers.
Mass services are 11:30 A.M. Saturday June 3, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Union City, Indiana with Father Christopher Roberts officiating. Calling is from 9:30 A.M. Saturday June 3, 2017 till 11:15 at Reichard Funeral Home Inc. 400 W. Deerfield Road, Union City, Indiana. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Memorial contributions maybe made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Masses with envelopes at the funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.reichardfh.com
