|One of my fond memories of Gene were from a young age , I remember him trying to teach me cords on a guitar my mother wanted me to learn to play . I could do the finger positions ok but I never had the strength to press hard enough to play a cord more than one time. He would be funny and say well that didn't work did it. Get on out of here . Then he would grab the guitar and play . I was in awe of his talent to play . My fondest memories of growing up on the Southside were setting and listening to him and a few others play music in the evening . Then we all grow up and move away . I remember Gene telling me one time how he was glad that we were home for a visit. While he held Liz as a toddler and teased her.
he will be missed .
I send my love and prayers to everyone. God bless
