Kimberly K. Peterson May 15, 1931 ~ May 22, 2021 Kimberly "Kim" K. Peterson, 90, Union City, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 22, 2021. He was born in Braham, MN on May 15, 1931, to George W. and Eva (Manuel) Peterson. On June 24, 1956, he married Marilyn (Thomas) Peterson, and she survives. Kim was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Wisconsin, gaining his CPA designation at graduation. He then was drafted into the Army, serving in the Finance Corps, first in New York City then in Indianapolis at Fort Ben. It was at Fort Ben where Kim and Marilyn met when she brought a high school singing group there to entertain the troops. He asked her to dance, and their courtship began.

After a short time in Milwaukee, they moved to Union City where Kim became the Corporate Controller of the Backstay Welt Company. He joined Rotary and Wesley United Methodist Church. Both gave him many opportunities for service and leadership at both the local and state levels. He was also very active with Randolph County 4-H, and a former President of the Union City Chamber and the Indiana Arabian Horse Club. After Backstay closed, he opened an accounting firm with offices in Union City and Muncie. He practiced for over 40 years, serving many businesses and families throughout Indiana and Ohio. Survivors include his wife of nearly 65 years; his children Kathryn Lynn and Thomas William; his grandchildren Tyler Jeffers, Erika Jeffers, Dr Ashley Bensen (Tyler), Matthew Peterson and Isaac Peterson; and sister Penny Peterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother George B. Peterson. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, at Reichard Funeral Home, 400 W. Deerfield Road, Union City, IN. On Thursday, May 27, 2021, a funeral service to celebrate Kim's life will take place at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 515 W. Oak Street, Union City, IN at 10:00 am. Pastor Geoff Grow will be officiating with burial taking place at Union City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Wesley United Methodist Church, 515 W. Oak Street, Union City, IN 47390, the Union City Rotary Club, 105 N. Columbia Street, Union City, IN 47390 or the Greenville Municipal Band. Memories may be shared online at www.reichardfh.com.

Dear Marilyn and family; I was so sad to learn of Kim's passing. He was such a kind and sweet man. We had many good times while playing clarinet in the Greenville Municipal Band. He always spoke so highly of his family who was the center of his life. You are all in my prayers.
