Gary Lee Sewell, 76, passed away Saturday Oct. 10, 2020. He was born August 22, 1944 to the late Hubert and Marjorie Hampshire Sewell. He graduated from Jackson School with the class of 1963. He served in the US Army during Vietnam where he earned several medals of honor including a Purple Heart. He worked as a maintenance at Primex Plastics in Richmond, IN, and Spartec Plastics.
Gary enjoyed spending time with his friends and family especially at reunions. He also enjoyed cookouts, riding motorcycles and hunting in his earlier years.
Survivors include his wife Mildred Sewell; children, Monty (Patricia) Sewell of New Castle, IN, Karyn (Eric) Bruggeman of Minster, OH, Angela (Richard Jr) Shibuta of Michigan; 7 grandchildren, Stacey (Brian) Leimbacher, Michael Strausser, Debbie (Tyler) Pypkowski, Ashley (Jay) Armijo, Andrew Shibuta, Austin Shibuta and Sierra Shibuta; 3 step grandchildren, Ryan VanSlyke, Myah (Tyler) Willis, Lacia VanSlyke; 13 great grandchildren; step siblings, Bobbie (Randy) Wenger, Bill (Roxanne) Stocksdale, Becky (Frank) Burk; step mother, Alice "Bonnie" Sewell.
He was preceded by his parents, a brother Ricky; a daughter Leslie; an aunt Alice and a cousin Butch.
Visitation is Saturday October 17, 2020 from 11 AM - 12 Noon at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc, 400 W. Deerfield Rd., Union City, IN. Services are 12 Noon with the Rev. John Hampshire officiating. Burial will follow in the Union City Cemetery.  Burial will follow in the Union City Cemetery. Military Burial Rites will be conducted by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
