David Ray Miller, 54, of Greenville Ohio, died unexpectedly on Thursday October 1, 2020 at his home. He was born on July 20, 1966 in Dayton Ohio to Ramon & JoAnn Miller, who precede him in death.
Dave was a 1985 graduate of National Trail High School, participating in Cross Country. After high school, Dave had many different jobs, but was most proud of his service as a firefighter for Eldorado, West Manchester, & Gratis Ohio Fire Departments, & as an EMT for Med Trans. He was an avid OSU and Bengals fan.
After school, he married his high school sweetheart, Michelle Upton (nee Baker) & they had 4 children together, Ashley (Kyle) Othersen, Amber Miller, Brittany (Chad Waddell) Miller, & Joshua Miller, who all survive.
On April 30, 2016, he married Darla (Foster) Bowman in Winchester Indiana and she survives him, along with his stepdaughter Kara (Kyle) Harter of Greenville Ohio. Dave also leaves behind 16 grandchildren—Daisy, Dixie, Daela, Demi, Madison, Tyler, L’eanna,  Tayviana, Nihya, Ariana, Raelynn, Brielle, Brynna, Summer, Hunter & Jake, & one grandbaby on the way.
Dave is also survived by his sister, Darlene Miller (Chelse Rohrer) of Brookville Ohio,  his sister Vicki (Russell) Sowry of Florida,  sister in law Denise (Don) Enis of Portland Indiana, brother in law Dan (Amy Stewart) Foster of Union City Indiana, & brother in law Dave (Barb) Foster of Greenville Ohio, along with a host of many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by 2 of his best friends/former brother in laws, Tony and Johnny Baker, whom he missed greatly and is now reunited with forever.
Dave was a licensed ordained minister, who performed many weddings and funerals. He loved to help families, and many times offered his services at no charge—he was just honored to be able to assist. In 2018, he became a licensed crisis care specialist to help addicts find their way. He helped many local families in their battles against addiction, including his own. He would go to the ends of the Earth to help anyone, not expecting anything in return. He is greatly missed already and will be loved forever.
Per his wishes, he was cremated, and will be laid to rest with his mom in the spring of 2021. There will be no public memorial at this time, per the family’s wishes.
