He graduated from Lynn High School in 1960 and with an undergraduate teaching degree from Ball State in 1964. He returned to Ball State for his Masters in education and completed it in 1965. He married Linda June Miller, of Lynn, Indiana, on December 15, 1961, and was married for 58 years.

Ivan is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Vicki (Jeff) Mowery of Topeka, Indiana, Susan Stuckey of Brownsburg, Indiana, and Tim (Krista) Flaugh of Cedar Grove, Indiana; grandchildren, Tyler (Bethany) Mowery, Ryan Mowery, Kyle (Camille) Stuckey, Megan (Andy) Smith, Michelle (Nic) Raber, Stephanie Mowery, Jacob Flaugh, Josie Flaugh; three great-grandchildren; and cousin Jackie (Willard) Grubb.

Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, John Albert and Doris Flaugh.

Ivan taught at Winchester Community High School for 40 years and at the Richmond Ivy Tech Campus for an additional 10 years. He has been a farmer in the community for all of his life. He was a faithful member of Lynn Friends Church, serving in a variety of capacities. He also served on the Indiana Yearly Meeting Board for several years.

Ivan was a steadfast Christian who represented Christ to many people. He lived his faith daily by helping others through food pantry, mission trips, and local groups who reached out to those in need. Ivan made a positive impact on the many people he came into contact with throughout his lifetime and will be missed by all. We look forward to seeing him in Heaven!

It is with a heavy heart that I make this note but with joy that I know that Ivan is with his heavenly Father. I pray that Linda and his family know how respected and loved this man was. Any man can only hope that he will be remembered with such respect.

Linda, I extend my condolence to you and the family. I have fond memories of my years of ministry at Lynn Friends. I was privileged to be a part of the Saturday morning men's prayer group of which Ivan was a regular participant. He was truly a leader in the church and the community and let his light shine for Jesus Christ. May God bless you and bring comfort in your sorrow.

We will miss Ivan, his laugh, his wisdom, his love for the Lord. What an amazing example he set for us all to be a humble servant for the Lord. I always loved it when I would tease him and ask him "where is Linda and he would smile and say I don't know probably talking to some one. It is hard to keep track of her." Then he would smile and chuckle. We have been so blessed to get to know him through our sharing Group. Also Sunday school where he helped teach about the Lord. We will miss him leading our share group also. His favorite prayer was for all of us to say the Lord's pray together. Yes he was an amazing man. We will miss him but we know that he is in the Lords hands now praising Him. We love you Ivan

Ivan was a wonderful friend and fellow educator. I cannot express how grateful my wife and I are/were for all of the help and encouragement he gave to my son Caleb while he was in Ivan's classes in high school. I just found out about this today and am very saddened by this news. I am sure there is a wonderful place in heaven for this extraordinary man. God bless all of his family during this difficult time.

My heart goes out to your family. Mr. Flaugh was my Calculus and Chemistry teacher. I remember thinking that he was so smart!!! I also remember him saying to the class that he was a farmer, not a teacher...he said it with that little grin that he gave us when he was joking or letting us know that he was aware of the antics that we were up to. I graduated in 1985 and went in to be a math teacher too! I am grateful for Mr. Flaugh encouraging me!!! Prayers for all of you.

Thoughts and prayers goes out to his family. I graduated WCHS in 94 and had him for numerous classes. He was a great teacher and I will always remember him. I wasnโ€™t top in his class but he never made me feel less of a student. He always had a smile and went out of his way to say hello. He will be greatly missed.

So sorry to hear of your loss.

Mr. Flaugh was my Physics teacher at WCHS in 1970. I remember all of the formulas he would write on the board for our tests. We didn't have to memorize them, but we had to know which ones to use and which ones were just there to trip us up!

May God give your family peace through this difficult time.

Linda and Family, I am sorry to hear of Ivan's passing. I always thought of him as a farmer and that is a good thought coming from a farming family. He always had time to talk even if he was busy. And Lynn Friends were lucky to have you and Ivan as such good members.
