UNION CITY - Romilda Sue (Abel) Bruss, 84, was freed of her earthly body Wednesday Nov., 8th 2017. She was born May 9th, 1933 in Winchester, Ind. to the late Harry D. and Cora (Rhoades) Abel.
After graduating from Wayne High School in Randolph County Ind. in 1951, Romilda earned her diploma in nursing from Fort Wayne Lutheran School of Nursing in 1954. She had a career as a  Registered Nurse for 42 years, working at the Union City Memorial Hospital for over 35 years until its closing. In 1954, Romilda married Roger Everett Bruss, whom she met while working at the Purity Dairy as a teen. She was a lifelong member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Union City, IN, being active with the Women's Ruth Circle, bible school and Sunday school. Romilda also volunteered with North Side Elementary School Reading P.A.I.R.S. program. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Romilda also enjoyed sewing, music and caring for her flowers.
Romilda is survived by 3 daughters, Susan (Gary) Wyckoff of Huntsville, OH, Rachel Moystner (special friend, Mark Guggenbiller), Ruth (Dennis) Schweigert both of Union City, IN; grandchildren, Heidi Jones, Hope (Brad) Moore, Megan (Matthew) McNulty, Aaron Moystner (special friend, Alliey Nunn); great grandchildren, Evelyn Moore, Gunnar McNulty; a brother, John D. (Shellie) Abel of Vienna, VA; sister-in-laws, Gretchen Abel and Norma Abel.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Roger Everett Bruss; brothers, Harold "Bud" Abel, Ralph Abel; son-in-law, Steven Moystner.
Visitation is 4-7 P.M. Wednesday Nov. 15th 2017 at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. Deerfield Rd., Union City, IN and also 1 hour prior to services Thursday at the church. Services are 11:00 A.M. Thursday Nov. 16th, 2017 at the Trinity Lutheran Church of Union City, IN with the Rev. Mick Althouser officiating. Burial will follow in the Union City Cemetery.

My sincere sympathy to Susan, Rachel and Ruth on the passing of your mother. I remember her as such a warm, loving lady, wonderful mother and a great nurse. May she rest in peace. So very sorry for your loss.
